Joe Kellogg Blue Suit Awards Dinner, March 31, 2005

Alamo AFA turns potential disaster into a crowning achievement. On the eve of the event, we learned that the ticket sales exceeded the hotel capacity by 50 people! What to do, what to do? The first obvious thought was, we would have turn away 50 attendees at the door and that was UNACCEPTABLE, so we met with hotel staff and came up with a creative solution.

We would seat the maximum 150 people in the main ballroom and seat 50 people in the Hotel Restaurant and adjust the program to serve the Dinner first, then take an intermission while hotel staff cleared 9 tables and replace them with chairs in auditorium style seating for the entire group.

Immediately adjacent, was another AF group at a Retirement Celebration.  When it came time for their people to be honored, we opened the sliding doors and instantly had 500 people in attendance for our Blue Suit Awards function. Pictured below are selected photos of the event:
