ALAMO CHAPTER STRATEGIC PLAN 2002-2005

Theme 1: Educate the Public about the need for Aerospace Power and a Strong National Defense.

  • Obtain and publish legislative updates in Defender and on webpage

  • Investigate establishment of San Antonio Military Coalition

  • Maintain media contact to provide aerospace information

  • Maintain contact with business and community leaders

  • Make Voice known to Commission on Veterans Affairs

  • Conduct joint meetings with Community Groups to inform

Theme 2: Advocate Aerospace power and a strong national defense

  • Increase “Visions of Exploration” Program

  • Expand Chapter Recognition programs

  • Promote 12th Fighter Wing Speaker Program

  • Continue participation in “Celebrate America’s Military Week”

Theme 3: Support the USAF and the Air Force Family

  • Conduct Joe Kellogg Banquet to recognize Outstanding Air Force Military members

  • Conduct Charlotte and Carlton Loos Banquet to recognize Outstanding  Air Force Civilian members

  • Conduct programs to support the families of Deployed Personnel in conjunction with USO and other groups

  • Conduct programs to support/recognize Veterans

  • Continue Scholarship and Community Outreach programs

  • Maintain personal contact with senior officer and enlisted leaders

Theme 4: Strengthen AFA Field Operations

  • Build a chapter budget to address current and future needs

  • Maintain continuity books on major events

  • Maintain a current calendar of events on Defender and Website

  • Continue new member Welcome program

  • Increase Community Partner program

  • Continue 100% National AFA support

  • Maintain a “zero loss” membership program

  • Reach out to younger people
